As a registered charity, the Walthamstow Toy Library has an elected board of trustees. The trustees are responsible for controlling the work, management and administration of the charity on behalf of members. 

Meet our trustees:

Read Baurtally – Read is our treasurer, a government finance professional and chartered management accountant. He lives in Walthamstow with his wife and daughter and loves cycling, cooking (and eating!) and trying to get better at French. 

Nadia Bostock – Nadia has a background in project and event management, particularly in the education and health sectors. She has previously worked in children’s centres and is used to getting messy during play sessions. Nadia has recently moved to Walthamstow and has been a trustee of the Toy Library since March 2020.

Kate Boyle – Kate is a lawyer, currently working in television production, but previously worked in a variety of legal and compliance roles in government, at the BBC and at Transport for London looking at governance, policy development and implementation and ensuring legal compliance across outsourced service providers. She became a Toy Library trustee because she’s such a big fan and is a regular user of its services.

Noella Gooden – Noella is an Australian qualified lawyer with experience in the private and third sectors. She has been a trustee of the Toy Library since 2018. Noella has a particular interest in reducing waste and plastics. Noella is also a mum to a 3 year old boy.

Romily Hall – Romily is a HR professional, with 15 years experience. She is as a Senior HR Business Partner in Banking. She leads on areas such as cultural and strategic change, setting people strategies, diversity and inclusion, restructuring, employee relations, advising, coaching, talent management and many of the touch points of an employee and people manager journey. She has two young children and started attending and accessing support from the Toy Library when she had her youngest and found the welcoming staff and environment a great place to experience her daughter grow and develop. She is passionate about parents having access to support and facilities in their communities.

Hannah Randle – Hannah is a stakeholder engagement and public affairs professional, with skills in political strategy and engagement, stakeholder engagement and management, event management and wider communications.  Hannah has three children under the age of 6 and is a regular user of the Toy Library, both at play sessions and to borrow toys. She has been a Trustee for the past year. 

Natalie Sleigh – Natalie joined the Board of Trustees in March 2020. She is currently Head of Special Events at Terrence Higgins Trust and has worked in fundraising for the past six years. She lives in Walthamstow where she frequented the Toy Library with her toddler many times over the past few years before joining the board.

Farah Syed – Farah has been a public sector accountant for more than a decade, most recently working for a local government department as their Financial Controller. She became a member of the Toy Library a short while after her daughter was born in April 2018 and joined as a Trustee in March 2020. Farah has three children and loves reading, playing and doing activities with her children.
